Short and Long Speech on Unity in English

Speech – 1

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!

I am Rajesh, a Class X student standing here to deliver a speech before you today. After listening to all my fellow classmates, I would now like to talk about the most essential element of human existence, unity, with the permission of all the member staff.

A famous quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt “The point in history at which we stand is full of promises and dangers. The world will either move towards unity and broadly shared prosperity, or it will break away”. These stories have always been proved true because whenever there is a stir in unity the world has seen a lot of panic and instability.

The people living in India belong to different castes, religions and beliefs but they live in unity and this proves the fact that there is unity in diversity. Unity is centered on the existence of mutual peace, love harmony etc. despite differences in many beliefs like caste, class, religion etc. With respect to Indian religions, its limit is never exhausted. It is a place of reunion of different languages and religions. People from all over the world live their life in a very peaceful way in our country with specific customs. Here Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis live in love and peace with each other. They all follow their religious festivals with great zeal and enthusiasm.

When there is harmony there is more power in thoughts, better communication and better understanding. From the first day of British rule on India to the day of India’s independence, the struggle for the freedom of Indians would not have been possible without the joint efforts of all the communities irrespective of their religious and cultural backgrounds. They were driven by just one agenda and that was to get India’s independence. That is why India’s freedom struggle is a fine example of unity in diversity.

The people living in 29 different states and 7 different union territories are united with a belief of brotherhood. Bondage, care, love and harmony together provide the true essence of life. It is this unity which has become the basis of a prosperous, strong and happy India across the country even after so much terrorism, corruption and uproar. People place high importance in karma and spirituality which strengthens relationships. People respect all religions equally. Unity not only helps people morally but it is also a great paradigm for other countries which attracts tourists to a great extent.

For example a family is a symbol of bond, harmony and unity, they live together under one roof, they share a strong bond, they share their troubles and sorrows with each other and that is the essence of unity. Original strength. The importance of unity can never be underestimated. A few drops of water make an ocean and this becomes the basis of unity.

Today we have discussed in our conversation and found that unity is supreme and omnipotent in every phase of life. Without unity no achievement is possible in this world.

Thank you.

Respected Principal, Vice-Principal, Teachers and my dear friends!

I am Sakshi from class 9th section-A to be your host today. Today we all have gathered in this year’s annual function and the management committee has decided not to conduct classes giving a special discount for the students so as to try our best to maintain the integrity of our school. Today I want to talk on a topic called unity.

Solidarity is defined as a quality in people where they work in a group for the common interest of all, whether the group is large or small, rather than working only for their own interests. It is a feeling of unity, solidarity, harmony for a single and common goal.

Strength lays emphasis on unity, practically speaking, and if every time people work in harmony and solidarity with each other, the result increases a hundredfold. The famous story of the farmer and his sons will explain my thoughts very clearly. The farmer asked his fanatical sons to break a bundle of wood and the sons failed to do so. Later the farmer asked him to break each stick separately and he broke the wood without making any extra effort. The father then took them home to teach them an important lesson and told them that if they stood united, no one would harm them and if they were divided, they would be shattered. Thus it is clear that unity plays a very important role in every stage of human life whereas hatred and jealousy weaken the unity which ultimately results in ruin and destruction.

Unity also provides equal rights for all. Standing together boosts the morale of people in many places including workplace, personal life and various organizations. It helps to strengthen relationships and emphasize teamwork leading to improved performance, quality of work and healthy lifestyle. It improves healthy human relationships and protects equal human rights for all.

Unity in diversity in India in particular provides a source of tourism. People of different customs, origins, lifestyle, religions and festivals attract tourists and tourists from other countries of the world. Unity in Diversity promotes the spirit of national unity which has diversity in almost all aspects. It respects the value of rich heritage of a country and strengthens and enriches its cultural heritage.

Society is the basic unit of the nation and when there is unity in the organization of an organized society it will without any doubt contribute to the development of the nation which is the ultimate goal. Many problems are increasing globally and there is a need to unite to handle and tackle these problems at specific levels. It is necessary for different nations to unite to face this situation. It is the ability for any creature, which exists in this universe, to survive.

The power of unity is a distinctive quality in itself and has many advantages. For example, every human being can maintain a secure existence only as long as he remains united. On the other hand if they live alone they can be easily deceived and controlled. So we all should follow the basic rule of being united so that no power can separate us and we keep striving for development.

Now please allow me to finish my speech and I also request everyone that if they have any question don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you.

Respected Principal, Teachers and my dear friends! Good morning to all of you from my side.

Today we all are here for the seminar organized by our school to teach the importance of unity and team work in our academic and personal life. We all already know about the role of unity in a team, family, company, country etc. Without unity the existence of life in this world is not possible.

Unity is the key to success for any team. If we have to work with other people then it is very important to collaborate with them because every person has a different mindset and a different approach towards each situation. However, living in harmony with different people is difficult. There are many examples in this world where unity has been maintained and there are many places where there is no trace of unity. So let us take an example where both the cases exist.

In the country of India we see a huge diversity in all religions, castes, languages etc. Here Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Christians etc. live in unity. It becomes very difficult to maintain unity among people in this country like India because people from different cultures and religions represent different ideologies. Of course when two people of different ideologies come together then there will be conflict of different thinking, belief and ideas and hence the existence of unity in this country will be threatened but still our country is capable of maintaining peace among the people. and is possible only through the existence of unity.

We celebrate Independence Day in our country on 15th August every year which is the biggest example of the power of unity of all kinds. This is not possible without a sense of strength and unity among the people. Unity is the main reason why our country is able to maintain freedom in this world. On the contrary, there are still many places in the country where unity does not exist. We hear many news related to many murders, rapes, dacoities etc. All these things are not in favor of unity. All these crimes are due to lack of security and lack of unity among people because most of the people are not interested in helping others at the time of these crimes.

We all students are the future of this country and we have to understand the importance of unity in our life. Unity is the reason for the existence of brotherhood, fraternity and the care that we have towards other people. We can learn a lesson of unity from animals too. They exist in this world because of their unity. Unity is necessary to survive.

With this, I end my speech and for organizing this event, our Principal Ma’am for giving us a chance to realize the importance of unity in life and for listening to my words very patiently to all of you too. I want to give special thanks.

Thanks and I wish you all a good day.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

Today this gathering has been organized here for a special social cause. To inculcate a sense of unity in the hearts of the people. The same unity that enabled our country to achieve independence after years of British rule. There is a need to awaken this feeling among the people which is the biggest reason for the existence of life on earth. As we know that India is a country of diversity but still people live together with love and affection towards each other. Each one of us knows that we should respect each other’s religions.

I hope you all have heard the line “unity has inexhaustible power” and it is indeed true. Unity is a pillar on which the whole world and countries in particular depend. If a country is going through any crisis, then if the people of the country get united, it becomes a little easier to deal with such problems. Politicians who oppose each other every time should also stand in unity. All these things can be possible only when people have faith in their country.

As I have said earlier that our country India is a multi-religious country and yet there is a sense of unity among its people. The biggest example of unity among the people of the country is in our history when we achieved independence against the British and still maintain it. This would not have been possible without the unity and trust that he showed at that time. Apart from culture, religion, lineage etc., diversity can be seen in different cultures, clothing, food, lifestyle etc.

Unity has an important role not only in a country but in the whole world and there are many such cases where a country is going through a problem and the countries of the whole world united to solve this problem. This can be possible only when there is unity among the people.

So we know that unity plays an important role in every aspect and makes a good impact on everyone’s life. Unity has the power to change the whole world but it is completely up to us to stay united. This is the right time when we should unite against all the odds like terrorism, riots, animal cruelty, murder, dacoity, corruption etc which are disturbing the peace all over the world instead of the policies and steps taken by the government in the interest of the country. All these problems can be eradicated from the root only when we are united against it.

With this I end my speech and would like to give special thanks to our management team and supporters who unconditionally supported this speech. A special thanks also goes to all of you for gathering here and making this event a success. I wish you all a good day!
